Photographer's Note
Lake Taawa - the deepest lake in Japan
With a depth of 423.4m, Lake Tazawa is the Japan's deepest lake. Its water is a beautiful azure and the lake is also known as the "lake of Legends".
Tatsuko statue, a heroine of the lake of legends, stands on the lake's western bank.
My first post for 2007. Wishing everyone at TrekEarth a very happy new Year.

Bonjour Avijit
Très bonne année 2007 à toi aussi
Très belle composition avec le jeu de miroir entre la montagne et le lac.
La statue vient perturber tout ce bleu et c'est bien vu !
bravo

Hi Avijit,
What a beautiful shot to begin the year.
Very typical of the yuki-guni that Akita is.

A great image, I like the golden statue against the royal blue background.

Hi Avijit
That looks like an amazing place... absolutely beautiful scenery.
Your composition is very nice, with the colour of the statue contrasting and complimeting with the ice.
The statue is so shiny!
This is a great photo. ^_^ Thanks for sharing it.
It is of particular interest to me, as I may be spending a year in Akita - in the University - starting this summer.
Regards,
Richard

Hi Avijit,
Very nice composition and opposition of colors. I like it.
I would have only one critic : I think that the head of the statue is a bit too closed to the waterline what is a little disturbing.

This is a very beautiful picture. I like these snowy mountains and how they reflect in the sea. The golden statue adds a nice color contrast to the picture. It seems as if it comes from another world.

Hello Avijit,
I just realized that I'm giving critique to this photo in the last month of 2007 which is posted on TE in the 1st month of 2007. Well, well... after seeing photo I felt like visiting this picturesque lake. Well capture! Statue of Tatsuko gives different hight and meaning to already beautiful surrounding. TFS and keep it up.
Cheers, Hemant
