Photographer's Note

During a 4 day trip through the lakes of Salzkammergut in Austria, taken in the vilage of Traunkirchen in Traunsee. The promenade of Traunkirchen is one of the most interesting I saw during these days. Not straight but with lot of curves, going up and down, with churches and nice buildings and some wonderful sceneries like these.

Unfortunately, the days are long in May, so waiting for good light too. In central Europe this means you have to make a trade off between dinner which is normally been served until 8:30 to 9:00 pm or a good light. This days I preferred dinner so the light is not always the best.

In this one I didn't manage to have a balanced performance between the foreground and the background. Any workshop giving life to the background is welcomed.

Hi Thomas,
Lovely shot and an excellent composition that really leads you into the photo. I can understand you wanting to bring life into the photos background, but in many ways I like the fact the background isn't sharp because it gives you a sense of distance that wouldn't otherwise be conveyed. The contrast of the trees on the right being perfectly sharp, and the background being hazy I actually like!
I hope someone helps you out with a workshop, as I would also be interested to see what can be done. I took a whole series of photos like this with hazy backgrounds at the weekend, as I was hampered by poor light a lots of mist.

Yes, it's a great nice photo, with very good sharpness and definition, and an excellent composition with the boat that leads the glance to the boathouse.
It's beyond my possibilities to try a workshop to improve the background, but I agree with Lee: it's good the way it is.
When the light is strong and the day hot there is a natural haze in the distance, so don't worry.
