Photographer's Note

this goes to all my Italian friends here on TE who love roofs.
This photo holds a special place in my heart because it's the first photo that I shot, developed and printed all by myself. it was my assignment for a darkroom course I was taking...
the view is from the tower in Utrecht - hundreds of steps to climb - and the image comes from a scanned negative (Kodak Trimax 400), to which I only added a light orange tint. the rest is all mine!

Lovely picture, Cris. I don't particularly love roofs, but they do have something striking. And the lovely dutch architecture. In the front you see the old style, along the river and in the back left, you see the 6 new buildings which have very similar styling. You might want to explain to the non-dutch viewers why dutch houses were built this way.
Keep them coming.

Bella foto, anche l'acquisizione digitale è ottima.
Ho dormito a Utrecht una lontana notte dell'agosto 90 (o 91) ma ricordo bene il canale e tutti i ristoranti sull'acqua ove mangiare gustosamente.

utrecht...la città del cigno!
(ovviamente il cigno di Utrecht é....Marco Van Basten...sai..il Milan é una fede!)

visuale interessate...mi piace questo bird eye POV (si..lo scrivo anche se non ti piace!) a mostrare la città da una visuale diversa ed insolita.
il bianco e nero...oltre all'assenza di dettagli riconoscibili dei giorni nostri (a parte il pulmino da muratori in alto a sinistra) pone la composizione in una dimensione extratemporale

Ciao Cristina,
ma che carina! una bellissima vista dall'alto, carina la composizione e buono l'effetto cromatico dei grigi (TANTI TONI=TANTI COLORI).
Certo è bello sfogliare l'album dei ricordi insieme agli amici.
