Photographer's Note
In the background you can see the famous mountain, but these nomad girls made the image. I tipped them 5 yuan...
ISO at 100 ASA and focal length at 70.00mm.

Superb image, the mountains pale into insignificance beside these lassies. It brings over the feeling of being a really hard life.

Hi Caleb,
I love your talent displayed in countless portraits of people. The daily life image featuring the weathered look of these young girls is telling of the way of life in rural Tibet? Am just reading a book that talks about the Ancient Tea Horse Road in Tibet - a historical grueling journey on mule trains delivering supplies. Amazing country and amazing story. Well done and TFS. Very nice framing Caleb and the capture of these young girl's expressions is subtle and strong at the same time - one of those images which grows and grows and grows on me - a real insight into them, their lives and their environment.
best wishes kev

Hello Caleb,
This is a powerful and beautiful portrait. The combination of the girls in the foreground with so much character in their faces, and the stunning landscape in the background, come together perefectly. Simply said, it is great!

I love the juxtaposition, but you are right, the girls make the image. The girl on the left is a bit too dark for me. I think a little PP could have brightened her just a bit.

Yo9u are absolutely right: the grils make the picture!
But the the background is important too, especcially when it's the famous mountain.
I think this is one of the strongest protraits I've ever seen on TE.

hello Caleb
how I like this double portrait! The 2 girls are lovely, and you have framed in an excellent way, puting these little gils against the boarder of the photo to let us see the splendid mountains of the foreground! But,as you say,the girls do the photo even if the landscape is really beautiful!A magistral work!
Regards.

A beautiful portrait in an exceptionnal landscape. I love the two girls look. They really seem dubious on what you do. I appreciate the details of the faces, and the very natural colors. Excellent framing, Caleb!

Hello Caleb
Having that beautiful landscape in the background,I`m questioning myself why we or I don`t see landscapes in your gallery.
But I have to agree with you...the girls made the image. It is a wonderful shot, with the "twins" very well placed in the frame and their nice face expression.
The WS is also a good point.
Once again...wonderful shot.
Kind regards

Lovely double portrait, their shy air is so typical and their environment is very well described... Glorious mountains in the BG...
(... But Caleb, as a former tour guide : I'm afraid I don't agree so much with your methods [even if the kids are obviously poor and need the money] : with the next bus, they'll expect at least as many tips if not more and I fear that you could have transformed this shy pair into future little beggars, sent by their parents after each tourist bus (... although in a way, I find it funny too and sometimes I too send kids who ask money to tourists who look much richer...)
Splendid photo anyway ! Beautiful composition and their expressions are superb,
Best regards,
Cath.

Nice shot. Talk about a background. The girls in front are priceless, with not quite sad but almost just "not there" expressions. The burnt cheeks and dirty faces / clothes and the baskets on the back in that lanscape just screams a hard life. Great placement of the girls and nice subtle tones also.
