Photographer's Note
The Chihuahuan Desert sun setting through "The Window" in Big Bend National Park, Texas. We retreated into the Chisos Mountains after a sun-soaked day along the Rio Grande.
Hanging out of the car window, I captured this photo as we descended into the Chisos Basin.
A most welcoming scene for a few "first-timer" college friends of mine.
At an elevation of approx. 5,400 feet, the Basin provides a break from the desert heat, and is the most popular campground in the Park. Never a dull moment in this quiet desert sanctuary of West Texas.

Nice shot. Still think there is room for sharpening the silhouette in order to bring an even greater contrast to the sky.
I haven´t been visiting TrekEarth for some time, but it´s funny that the first one I look at is this photo, taken in Big Bend, a place I never heard about until a couple of hours ago when a close friend of mine living in Houston recommended this place.
We are planning to visit this place next year. Quite some distance from North Norway... :)
