Photographer's Note
This is taken from one of the busy 'tourist' streets of Macau near the old facade of the St.Paul cathedral.
And they're actually very fine streets with an interesting mix of Chinese and Portuguese architecture. You would also walk on modern concrete pavements as well as those stone tiles one'd normally expect to be in old European towns.
All comments 'd be very welcome!
Hv a nice day/night :)

Bonsoir Cheuk Hin
je suis très impressionné par la mise au point qui apporte un excellent relief à la compo. J'ai l'impression d'une photo en 3D tellement la profondeur de champ est excellente. Bravo, beau travail.

The expressions of the westerners say it all. I wonder if the situation was reversed (Chinese in Europe, say Lisbon Portugal) you would see the same.

This is a great crowd photo. I love the perfect framing of the front five people, with the tall blonde girl gazing upwards, and the girl in pink looking right at us. The colors are also very eye catching. Well done.

really nice capture, you fished out a good model from a crowd and that gives us the ability to reall focus i on something instead of justa whole bunch of people ina frame. The look is great, and her being so tall and blonde she really stands out too from the rest

Very well observed, Cheuk! You gtimed the faces just right, man, and that is NOT easy. I will assume you were not shooting machine gun style rat-tat-tat and chosing te best one, right? You actually took the one shot and it was the right one. Good gradual bokeh in the back too.
Nice...

The differing expressions on the faces of the five in the front line, make me look immediately into the depth of the blurred crowd to see their expressions.
Good DOF and full of detail.

An excellent shot, Cheuk, one that deserves praise on many levels, from the utter clarity of the front figures through the gradual bokeh behind to the actual choice of the shot... much going on and your handling of it is superb!

Hey Cheuk,
Nein...she's looking for those famous Portuguese Egg Tarts! I like the old european character of this place and it's been awhile since I last visited Macau.
Despite the overwhelming crowd, she stood out perfectly with her face and expression different from the others. I like the narrowing perspective of the buildings behind these people and the 'cobbled' stone pavements. Great POV, DOF and timing is superb!
All the best,
Jom

Although the girl in pink probably has nothing to do with the two Western girls. I see this as a triangle. Those 3 girls in the fg really stand out as they are bordered equally on both sided by older ladies. The crowd in the bg recedes into the bokeh. Good work. I'm finding it difficult to visualise you standing still in this crowded street to take the photo.

Hi Cheuk,
Title comes from a movie with Tom Hanks...playing a bit lost in Japan, this picture reminds me of that. You placed that title excellent in this picture. Tight framing, perfect colours and sharpness...just perfect work..!!!

The european and asian faces makes a good match for the fusion architecture, reminds me of yesterday, I did a land survey in the streets of chinatown here in SF, the crowds were just like this, with a few bewildered european tourists.

Hello Cheuk hin,
good shot on that cosmopolitan crowd, the tall blond girl stand out of it,a interesting exercise style with a 50mm,i should try a larger aperture to enhance the bokeh(already good)

Hi Cheuk
This is a great quality picture. The colours, skin tones and detail are all nicely brought out. The dof is well controlled too, with the architecture in the background giving a nice context and backdrop to the scene. Good daily life shot.

Hi Cheuk Hin,
What I first notice is that this image is very luminous, good capture of the two aliens within the local crowd, I see that either tourists or locals all of them look equally bored ;-)

Hi Cheuk,
Had a bit of a look at your gallery....very nice....good images of people and daily life.Good use of DOF in this one concentrating on the crowd..making them really stand out clear and sharp. You have also left the BG just clear enough for you to want to see more.

Hi Cheuk.
F/3.2, it gives a clever use of the focus and that's important for this photo. The bokeh part gives a very necessary perspective, and also I like how the people appears so natural and spontaneus.

Very nice shot, i like the shallow dof, which blurs the background and focus on the group of people.
Nice title, it does look a bit like lost in translation.

Hi Cheuk,
Great capture here. The way you spotted this blond girl being the tallest among the crowd and focused on her is great. I think the image would have been even better if the other "tourist" in the front was not there...leaving the blond girl the only "different". Nice and rich colours you have achieved.

Greetings cheuk Hin. Love your quirky title, especially since it reminds me of my visit to China, a place I always wanted to visit . I remember saying to my colleague,"I cannot believe I'm in China!"and driving him nearly crazy. I was so thrilled that I would burst out with this comment even days after we had arrived. Your phot catches the sense of wonder, expectation and confusion that such a wast and culturally rich country creates in the visitor.Great shot. Regards. Klaudio.

Very interesting photo and very appropriate title. I like the sharpness of the characters, but I would have liked the buildings to be sharp too, as you mention the mixture of architectures being interesting.
Good capture anyway.

Nice busy shot, very like the films shots of the streets. Nice focus and depth. The different faces from different races adds a really nice insight to the place and you can imagine what each characters story is. Well captured and very well framed.
