Photographer's Note

The medina of Tunis is very vast, a true labyrinth in which it is easy to get lost. Its beauty is that it also preserves alleys like these, where everything is marked by time and nothing has been adapted to the laws of tourism. So you can also do meetings like these, there are many cats, sociable and never quarrelsome, in a context of other times. The Medina is the oldest part of Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. Since 1979 it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the Medina there are about 700 monuments, such as several palaces and mosques. With an area of 270 hectares (in addition to the 29 hectares of the Kasbah district) and more than 100,000 inhabitants, ten percent of the inhabitants of the entire Tunis live in the Medina.
The plan of the Medina is characterized by an absence of geometric or formal rules.
The concept of public space is ambiguous, since roads are considered an extension of homes and are subject to particular social norms.

SOLO NELLA MEDINA DI TUNISI

La medina di Tunisi è molto vasta, un vero labirinto in cui è facile perdersi. La sua bellezza è che conserva anche vicoli come questi, dove tutto è segnato dal tempo e niente è stato adattato alle leggi del turismo. Così si possono fare anche incontri come questi, ci sono molti gatti, socievoli e mai rissosi, in un contesto d'altri tempi. La Medina è la parte più antica di Tunisi, la capitale della Tunisia. Dal 1979 è un Patrimonio dell'umanità dell'UNESCO.
Nella Medina si trovano circa 700 monumenti, come diversi palazzi e moschee. Con un'area di 270 ettari (a cui si aggiungono i 29 ettari del distretto della Kasbah) e più di 100.000 abitanti, nella Medina vivono il dieci per cento degli abitanti dell'intera Tunisi.
La planimetria della Medina si caratterizza per un'assenza di regole geometriche o formali.
Il concetto di spazio pubblico è ambiguo, dal momento che le strade sono considerate un'estensione delle abitazioni e sono soggette a particolari norme sociali.

Bonsoir Luciano,

La longueur de l'allée donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du chat. Il y a un bon contraste entre les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Luciano, i remember Tunis medina it s a fascinating place to explore. It is indeed like a labyrinth. Good use of the low pov to take a picture of this cat. You leave space on the left it creates a good depth.

A good view of the narrow and deserted street in the medina. The cat is very well included in the foreground, when it was looking towards your camera curiously. Good low viewpoint and fine lighting.

Fantastic idea with the low perspective. In result the cat appears almost as a tiger here.
You are meeting the wild animal face to face.

Its a sensational photo with the cat due to the well-chosen POV! It is also very well edited, obeying the rule of the thirds. The perspective lines draw my eyes towards the bg, while the angry face of the cat brings them back.

Ahhh now this is a nice fellow. At work keeping the mice away. You are there to pet him, thus he is not alone. Many European sites seem to have many cats. They get lots of pats from me. What an interesting perspective. Not the typical tourists view of the place, but a local impression as viewed from what potentially could be this cats POV.

Allora, il gattino fa parte del dieci per cento degli abitanti di Tunis :-) È troppo carino, ma sembra solitario, quando si sa che le medine sono spesso luoghi densamente popolati e frequentati.
