Photographer's Note

Medina of Tunis is a very picturesque place with long history with a maze of narrow alleys and always crowded. It's a perfect place to have a nice walk and perhaps do some shopping but to advance in is like
drowning in a sea of humanity, colours and fragrances.

This is a place I ended up taking a short photo break. I loved the ambience, level of noise and activity of this covered alleyway in the heart of the old medina, an amazing cool place to relax for a cup of tea or just enjoy a good round of shisha or just people watching...

Setting: 10 mm, 1/15 sec, F3.5, ISO Raw 200, 1609 hrs

The photo offers a great impression from the medina and the tunnel here, which was lit by a fine, warm light. The silhouettes of the people are nicely seen against the backdrop. I very much like the contrast with the darker parts.

This is a lovely atmospheric shot. You've caught the ambience so well by retaining the low light levels (overriding your camera's auto setting and eschewing fill-in flash). The slightly mysterious silhouettes are just right!
