The eastern entrance to Angkor Wat passes through some beautiful tall forest. Here you get a glimpse of the impressive temple through the trees.

Angkor Wat was first a Hindu, then subsequently a Buddhist, temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world. The temple was built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Angkor, the capital of the Khmer Empire, as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Breaking from the Shaivism tradition of previous kings, Angkor Wat was instead dedicated to Vishnu. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious center since its foundation. The temple is at the top of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors.

It really is a most beautiful place.

Hello Chris,
The point of view is excellent, with the tree-lined path funnelling our vision toward the beautifully temple, which is nicely placed off-centre. I like the light and shadow contrasts but regret that there is not slightly more detail in the shadow areas. Agreeable natural tones and good sharpness.

Le regard suit naturellement le petit chemin dans l'image.Il veut aller plus vite et plus loin pour enfin voir ces ruines de Angkor dont on voit la première tour à l'horizon.

Hi Chris,
good idea to show the famous temple from slightly different perspective. It emerges from behind the trees and creates curiosity. The path leads an eye towards it and the presence of some people on it adds to the composition. Nice colors and delicate warm light.

This really shows the resourceful nature in lush greenery and makes an interesting picture showing us a great image from this view point. I like the way the dusty road takes the eye through to the prominent in the background with wonderful dof, the blue sky splits and balances the color well. Touch of human figs adds so much live. Fine shot and tfs

Hello Chris,
Used the light condition and the shades in most attractive texture, yet with good DOF and clarity.
the place is overwhelming, but never I saw a photo from this perspective ( only saw this here on TE).

Hello Chris,
the tree lined avenue is a fine introduction to the scene with the dappled sunlight adding interest as it gives a clear indication of the environment,with the Temple visible in the distance it`s got a really nice depth.
