Photographer's Note

Walking around in the streets of beautiful Zhaoxing, a village of the dong-people in the southern China. One dong village need to have a stage for cultural activities, one drumtower for signals and meetings and one earth & fire bridge (with a roof). Zhaoxing contains five of each wich means that it was probably five different families that have grown together during time...
All houses are wooden (exept a few new ones of course :( ) and it's a thrill with a camera...

This is a superb image Terje of a lovely village. I like the way we can almost see the girl behind the window.. Mysterious... Nice colors too.

Really good shot Terje. Very original and you have created an air of mystery here I think. For me, the subdued colors fit well and for some reason, this shot sort of creates a sense of wanting from your subject, even though we can't really see here. Good one.

Great shot. Try cropping the bottom just a tiny bit so the window frame is full within as this wll improve the photo.

This is just excellent. I really like the compo here with the subject behind a window. The colors are wonderful and not dominate the shot too much. A really incredible piece of photography. Very well done!

A nice idea not to reveal the girl's face. This leaves the door open for our imagination. But the window itself already tells us quite a lot about the living conditions in Zaoxing. I also like the contrast between the black background and the pastel colours of the window frame.

Beautiful dreamy photo. The strong red color are dampened by the window glass and doesn't dominate the dilicate green tone.
The only problem is that reading your notes, I really wanted to see an earth & fire bridge or a drumtower instead!

Hi Terje, mysterious picture, want to take a look inside, it makes me curious. It's funny how she (I guess it's a she) keeps the window closed just with her one finger. A very nice one.

It's such an interesting picture, the way that the girl is not clear yet it is not a silhouette, makes me want to peep inside and see what's going on. The colors and tight cropping does the job. Terje it's a great picture

i missed that shot Terje! such a nice atmosphere of mystery. We see her without really seeing her! subdued colors and tones... superb compo using the frame of the left quarter of the window as horizontal line ... we all want to know what she was peering at now...;-)) any clue? or she was just curious...? nice shot!

This is a great photo! I love the contrast between the sharp, chipping paint, and the soft blurry image behind the glass. Nice colors too!

i somehow think this is one of your best photographs.
even this has the mystery like in your other photographs , but where it is different is in the colours. while the others were kind of mystic and gloomy (which i like) this one is mystic and kind of cheerful(which i also like :))
now a days im in love with the wide angle lens, so i think you could have improved it by not zooming in so much . if you had caught the window in one of the top corners preferably the top right , and maitained the focal lenght enough to be able to see the figure, then i think it could have been stronger.
i like this anyway

Image pleine de mystère. Cette présence à peine perceptible à travers le verre dépoli dans un cadre de fenêtre c'est une réussite photographique.
