Photographer's Note
After Christmas,
the colourful photos like wite flakes post to TE.
I would like to tell a story with B&W,
it may not very welcome though.
In the early year when i began to touch camera,
i shot many photos with B&W and developed it by myself.
this story about a female motorcycle driver among them.
In the southern China, for the economy not very devolopment,
compare with the Taxi's expensive, the bus's slower.
the motorcycle became the main transportation here.
Many people live on it,
But it is not easy to find a famale motorcycle driver in the street.
but i found this lady.
if you want to listen her story,
please wait for next post.

Yo Mingfang!
I like this photo as it has a real urban and city lifestyle feel to it. The composition you have used allows a good range of perspective. We can see the street unfolding in the background, the female motorcycle driver you have mentioned seeming to be waiting for something and the boy on the left of the frame that caught my attention almost immediately. He appears to be deep in thought?!
A nice street capture.

the b/w is killer. So is the high contrast. It gives this s sort of unreal feel, a very graphic feel actually. Two people going in different directions, looking in differnt directions. A very nice and raw shot.

Hello Mingfang,
Thanks a lot for this b&w post. The constrasts and grey tones are perfects. I wonder if it is a film or print scan. I like the idea of this pylon with writings that cuts the picture in two stories. The woman watching on the left and the kids on the right. Maybe It would have been better to put this pylon exactly in the middle or crop a little bit the left part.
Is it the best shot of a serie or did you succeed to capture the right mood from this little boy at the first shot ? Nevertheless I think sincerely that this is the work of a talented photographer. Congratulations !

Hello Mingfang! Fantastic b/w... superb capture with the wall as the divider between two lives, one young man and the lade on the motorbike, looking in different directions. Great composition and beautiful in every way. The depth with which we can see the street is also beautifully seen.
Very accomplished work! Bravo!

Hi Mingfang. I love this shot, I know the story from the book but I know that people on TE will like it a lot, it is a good story... plus, now the words will be in English :)
The split scene composition is excellent... really well done. the background is interesting as well, with the man on the bike. you did a very good job developing this as well, the contrast is very nice. great work, one of my favorites...

Still a very interesting pov of the daily life.
Motorcyle as a transportation mean is pretty common and practical in asia. Lady driver is not that comon though. I look forward to the next photo. Thanks for sharing, Alain.

A very nice composition - each third of the image having a main character and each in their own way engaged differently with the world.
A very nicely balanced image.
best wishes Kev

Hi Mingfang, I meant to comment on this photo earlier. This is really good. I like the 2 people, caught at the same moment, but each with their own thoughts, their own story. Beautifully composed.
