Photographer's Note
Tin Hau temple is one of the little, hidden wonders of Hong Kong. Here, among tall skyscrapers which almost seem to "eat" what remains of the old city, you can meet some people who find some serenity, who take their time to feel close to the sky, keeping their feet on the ground. One of these places is Tin Hau...

Magnifica composizione e colori particolari.

Fammi sapere...

this is precisely a situation where fill in flash is a must, rikk (i do it rarely myself but here - you would allow to present her eyes to the viewers)...
have you tried an option with the flesh with the "slow" mode? or even better - with highly reduced power of the flash+slow mode...?

Hello Rikk,
I am sometimes a bit surprized by the few amount of comments on some photos. I was expecting much more visits on this photo I find succeeded.
The portrait is sharing something and managed in wide angle it made possible to evidence the temple in the same time.
Moreover the lightning was not so easy but you reached a good balance so that the reader are now with you in this temple.
A great travel portrait.
Yves.

Hi Rikk,
I can see Jerzy's point with the use of flash, but I would never have thought of using the flash myself (I should try his advice).
As it is, I like it. I see her expression well, and the dark light brings deep colours and is suitable to the scene.
I assume you did not use a tripod..I see some slight noise..perhaps a high ISO setting was used? Either way, it does the job. I would have struggled to capture this myself.
In the end, I like this, it feels warm to me. You have created a good shot in these circumstances.
Cheers
Justin

Hello Rikk,
You found a perfect point of view to bring this wide angle view of the temple with a lot of atmosphere, wonderful play of light.

Paul
