Photographer's Note

This photo was taken this morning from the promenade at the Harbour Grand Hotel in Fortress Hill.

The view is towards Hung Hom on the Kowloon peninsula.

There is an iron railing stopping people from getting to the water's edge, but fishermen climb over, as do young people in the evenings. It looks as if somebody had a few beers last night too!

I am not sure if it was pollution, fog or mist, but something strange was happening on the other side of the water.

Yesterday, the Hong Kong air pollution index reached a record high of 500 - the maximum possible reading - in several areas.

At least 128 people, including an 8-year old boy, were admitted to hospital yesterday and almost 1,900 elderly people sought help.

Let's hope it was just misty this morning!

Here is a YouTube video taken from the same promenade - but on a very clear day!
