Photographer's Note
China is a large country of agricultural.
Chinese farmers who make a living
are dependent on the weather all the time,
so does the fishermen.
This year, a stong typhoon hit this fishing village,
the whole village was in the flood soon after.
the dike was also broken by the typhoon.
Fishermen hope somebody could help them to rebuild the dike,
but their wishes just like the sea cannot see the end.

Hi Mingfang
It is a dramatic photograph because of the b&w treatment, but also by the brittleness of the silhouette of the man. The foot remained in the air created a hesitant and sad imbalance.
Congrats

Wow, this is lovely, very epic. It's a tragic photo although there is nothing obviously tragic happening in it -- just your treatment of the subject conveys sadness somehow. I like the strong contrast here.

Hi
Beautiful piece of work. Love the B&W setting which amplifies the slightly depressing atmoshpere of the composition. And I also like the little shadow casted under his right foot, which adds to the overall impact of this image.
Good work!

Hello Mingfang, so nice to see you back... this image expresses the sadness that you write of, the man walking towards the sea which you so poetically compare to these fishermen's hopes... a very nice, powerful b/w shot!

I came across this one in pridel's theme of his favorites. I gotta say, Im stunned. How did I miss this shot? I love the old style b/w look with a bit of softness and great tones and highlites. The framing is just excellent, your model is superb. Im adding this to MY favorites.
