Photographer's Note

MY YUANYANG PHOTOGRAPY EXPERIENCE

1) The best time to take photo of Yuanyang is sunrise and sunset; however, it’s very much dependant on the mercy of Mother Nature.

I had seen wonderful pictures (postcard) taken by a handful of lucky visitors and the local pro that had spent many months or years just to get the perfect shot

2) On top of the twilight photo, isolating smaller landscapes pattern, abstract landscape, women, street scenes and children in traditional clothing can be very interesting...

At least we will not go home empty handed if the whether is bad, especially when we ha just traveled thousands of km to get there

In my own experience it can be very rewarding especially you can come up with original creation rather than only replicating the classical images

I do not have a habit to record the exact location maybe on my next trip I will bring a GPS system with me

TO MAXIMISE PHOTOGRAPHING OPPORTUNITIES YOU CAN DIVIDE YOUR DAY INTO 4 STRATEGIC SHOOTING TIME ZONE

a) Before Breakfast

1) Early morning waiting for sunrise, but need the corporation of mother nature
2) Morning shooting the fog/cloud (8-10 am) just after the sun is up look for the warm lighting, and the raising fog when the temperature hot up.

b) After breakfast

3) Streets photography, Children, Markets place

c) After Lunch

4) As the lighting is hash, best to concentrate on isolating details landscape, look for unique patterns, colours and maybe capture a few farmers working in the rice terrace

d) Late afternoon

5) Prepare for sunset photo

I hope you find the information useful. This is my two cents worth of contribution

NB:
In this photo was taken with a polarizing filter and I had increase the saturation to make the colour more vibrant

The color is actually a reflection of red algae floating in the terrace and the blue terrace is from the mineral in the water and reflection of the sky

Thanks for viewing
