Photographer's Note
I enjoyed a full day at Behai Park. The evening was the best part--the crowds were gone and the real fun started. Tai Chi, feeding birds, singing, bands, dancing, calligraphy and more. Also, the weather was much cooler! I'll post some more photos from the park over the next few days.
This man was reading the newspaper displayed in glass cases on the park wall at sunset. I loved his hat (something my own grandfather used to wear) and stance.

Hi April Jo
You certainly have a good eye for composition, most people would have walked by this scene without seeing the shot. You have captured a very interesting moment here.
But it's the lighting that interests me the most - soft and low. Look at how this man is reading his own shadow. It gives the shot depth and makes your subject more prominent.
Shooting from a low angle helps here too, it makes the shot more dynamic. But then, everything seems to work here, It's simple, well balanced and it has interest.
