Photographer's Note

An artisan giving final touches to an idol of Goddess Durga as a helper holds out a candle for better viweing. Incidentally the eyes are given the last touch of paint as it is believed to indice life into the idiol. Durga Puja the greatset festival of the Bengalies is around the corner and it is time to celebrate for all.

it must have to be a face of a giant durga idol. eyes are very traditional too. good capture of the artisan in action. very sharp image as well and tfs.

Hi Anjan,
The eyes of the idol are the key here and you have captured them spot on. I wonder about the lighting, surely its not all from the candle? There seems to be some other light source as well.

This is fantastic.Gorgeous colors.The eyes of the Goddess is the most beautiful part of this picture.Great brightness also...not sure if it is all due to the candle!!Frankly speaking I dont like the hand here....specially with all sorts of grains.

Good shot Anjan. Love the POV especially alongside the information in your note. The colours also are wonderful. only possible fault could be the slightly sharper, maybe.
