Photographer's Note
Back to Dooars. This photograph was taken at TOTOPARA. Its a wonderful place for photographing. You dont get any Toto anywhere in the world except here at Totopara.
About Totopara:
The tribe Toto, aprimitive tribe of West Bengal is only available here in Totopara and nowhere except here. Situated at a distance 22 km from Madarihat, the entry point of Jaldapara Wild life Sancturies. It is bounded by the foothills of Bhutan to the north, Tortsa River to the east, and Titi river and the Titi reserve forest on the south-west separated by the Hauri river. Before entering to Totopare we had gone to a nearby Orange garden and satisfy oursleves by tasting no of oranges.
Totopara consists of around 250 no of houses with a population of 1400. (as given by the GRAM PRADHAN of Totopara). I entered to the interior of the village to have the essence of the tribal village. The people are very responsive, charmful and full of life. They have a typical shape of house. Cultivation is the main source of income. They lead a very simple life. There is a health centre and Government have a good eye to develop it. Its a memorable tour to such an wonderful place nowhere in the world.

Rich colours and fine details for your Toto image Partha, I would have like to see a little bit more space, they really seem cramped in the frame, but a fine double portrait of daily life in Totopara.

Hello Partha,
a really fascinating, very well framed, double portrait shot. The expression of the subjects is very nice, the colours are natural and very well saturated, and what i like a lot is that the great light control. Well done! Tfs and best regards.
