Photographer's Note

Humayun's Tomb, completed in 1571, is one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture in Asia. The Persian architect, Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, was brought in after his work in Herat (present-day Afghanistan) to build this tomb in Delhi for the second Mughal emperor. Here a guard stands wistfully against a backdrop of red stone arches.
