Photographer's Note
Kashmiri Red Chillies is famous the worldover. Here a Kashmiri woman lays out the harvest of Red Chilli to dry. Grown mainly in Jammu and Kashmir and also in subtropical regions of North India during winter seasons. The chillies are long and fleshy. They are deep red in colour. They are mostly used in North Indian cuisines. The harvesting season for these chillies is from November to February though I witnessed this scene in mid October.

Hi Poulomi, this is an impressive shot. There's great colour in the deep red chillies juxtaposed with her blue cardigan, and I like your POV here, as it focuses on the chillies in the foreground, which really is the main theme of your photo. A striking image, well done. Regards,

hi..
nice perspective view... like the depth also but if u can enhance the contrast of the picture but just giving a red chillies a more hotter look then i think i will give really make them really hot as kashmiri mirch is famous for..
good work

Hi Poulomi,
The low POV is the key here with adequate prominence to your subject - the red chillies. The sky is a bit overcast but still the light is good enough. A very diiferent shot from the usual 'toursity' ones we are used to seeing from the valley.
Best Wishes

I am seeing of improvement in ur work or perhaps ur imprvd style of presentation. Little low on sharpness as already pointd out but full marks for a different peek at the life of Kashmiris.

Poulomi: great potential here for a great picture. I think your contrast is too high - great POV though. regards, c

Hello Poulomi,
I don't think we will get much photos of Srinagar like the photos you are sharing with us. Wonderful subject and you are showing us the daily life of the place as opposed to the natural beauty which attracts the camera of the tourists much than these!

Thanks for your visit and comment, Poulomi.
This colourful image of red chillies gives a different perspective to Srinagar known for its natural beauty.
The picture has a significant documentation value too. Apparently, Kashmir is a major producer of this popular Indian spice, going by the amount of the "red fire" you have shown here :-)!
Warm regards.

Hi Poulomi
A document on the chillies of kashmir. The PoV allows us to have an idea of these chillies.Good journalistic effort. A good contribution to TE.Great shot TFS.

A nice shot and some many chillis.
What I might like to see is a portrait with the point of view much higher so thst the woman is surrounded by chillis and nothing else. Great photo though.

really great colors and perspective !
it couldnt be better at that situation. i think, if you used a very large aperture, could focus the lady, and at the same time have got depth in the photograph. well done !

This is a fantastic documentation. your POV is good. i think, a slight movement in angle might have made a more powerfull shot.... the foreground, with a wide angle view would have added more to your fantastic composition in revealing the subject. TFS.
