And all the roads that lead you there are winding! Again!

On the way to Leh from Srinagar.
After you cross Kargil district and enter Ladakh area the landscape changes to this rugged type. Totally barren with almost no vegetation at all.
This picture was shot while we were heading towards Fotu La (13,479 ft), the highest point on Leh Srinagar route.

Hi Neelima,

such a dry feeling watching this scenery.
Naked, orange brown, hot...and some snow? on distant peaks.
A real contrast, enhanced by strong blue sky that is in my opinion just a little bit oversaturated.
All in all very impressive view of very impressive scenery.

Hello,

This photo remembers me a lot of things: the hours spent in the bus between entering in Zanskar range from Manali or the road between Lamayuru and Leh.
This photo is really Ladakh: colored stones, high snowy mountains and deep blue sky due to the high altitude.

This one is a spectacular sight, I like the wonderful landscape of the mountain ranges and the great depth of image. But the more impressive thing is the winding road in foreground, not suitable for those who suffer dizziness, and that attracts our look with a lot of strength.
Beautiful light and excellent colors, your composition is very good.

This is really beautiful. Loved the marked contrast that the blue sky strikes with rugged naked foreground. The snowy hills at the distance, provide the perfect blend for a visual treat!
