Photographer's Note

Amongst the tangled, labarynthine passages that wind through the old city, some pass underground before opening upon the Ganges' ghats. This lady paused for her son to hurry along - and did so in the morning light... Since this is my 667th post, I'll forgo portentous references. Clutched in her hands for morning prayer are votive marigolds and a silver cup to hold the Ganga's holy waters.
