Photographer's Note
We finally reached the bottom of the valley, had a quick snack, crossed the river and went through a thick forest before starting once again uphill. Now, we were not far from the very small village seen here located in the middle of the mountain slope.
The light is never easy in thick forests and that's why I don't have more photos from here, but I got a sunny 'window' and even if the sharpness is not the best, I decided to upload this himalayan forest shot.
This is the 4th day of 5 of the Curzon Trail, in Garhwal Himalayas, at the Nanda Devi National Park.
In WS there's two extra photos ( WS1 & WS2 ) of the bridge, one with a bonus of two monkeys running over the cables, which was impressive to observe, while the cables shook.

Hi Ricardo,
I almost recognise this path, good to see all the greenery around and the trekkers on the trail. Never easy with harsh light coming in through the trees but you have sure managed well. Thanks for the WS versions as well, specially the one with the monkeys.

Vera.

Olá Ricardo,
the monkeys are are great bonus - one about "no risk no fun" (even for them there is no risk).
I like this forest path with the bright light and the amount of trees and leaves. The pathway with the hikers adds life (in this living environment) and scale. The left tree with its several colours is very nice.

Parece-me bem difícil e perigoso.

Elles pourraient faire l'objet d'une publication particulière.
Amitiés.

Ola Ricardo,
Up and down, that is trekking life ;D
You caught a nice light in the fresh looking leaves, nice different tones of greens all over and a stone path people walking... the atmosphere is accurately depicted here!

I would guess the sharpness issue you talk about is probably a high compression problem. So many leaves take up so much memory. I think it was a good idea to post this as an important part of your travelogue showing other aspects of the terrain. The bright area is possibly too bright if you are looking for perfection but who cares; this image is showing us so much. I also like the WSs. The monkey one is funny and the other with the bridge is a first rate composition. I thought maybe the trekkers on the WS were Ana and the guide, but if so you seem to be a long way off to take the photo. All in all a good presentation.

Hola Ricardo.
I have no doubt: I prefer the second one WS. For me, best composition and idea. I prefer that composition with the bridge over the river.
Here we don't have the best quality for the photo.

Hi Ricardo,
Very well seen moment in the middle of the nature. The path, the people works nicely together but most of all I am impressed from the "wild" green colour which rules the land.I like the extra bonus for the images in the workshop, especially the scene with the monkeys!
All the best for the weekend,

Hello Ricardo,
very well captured shot of this gorgeous nature. You framed it very well decentralizing a bit the path. Including people you added vitality, scale and sense of depth. The light is very well managed and the colours are well saturated. Very nice one!
Thank you for this and those in the WS!
Have a nice weekend!

YEs you are rigth in your crittic, the ligth is not so good, was a little sad pic, plus the frame is dark, so this makes it even more dark, somtimes when is dark I like to put somoethng more brigth to neutralizad it or improve the picture, other tims I use B&P or Sephia. However the center is o.k I like the ligth in this path and about the others W/S the second is nice with the wonderful view, is not my intention crittic you as a bad guy, just to give you my humble opinion about this pic.
Take care my Ricardo and have an exelent weekend my dear friend.

Hi Ricardo,
A fascinating journey you are taking us on...As you note, the lighting is always difficult with forest shots and although there is a little extra brightness along the trail, the overall effect is great, with the hulking trunks of the trees leaning into the frame and the two hikers walking into the unknown. A fine capture, Ricardo.

Hola Ricardo,
Not an easy to place to walk for sure, and these treks must be very tiring . Nevertheless you always manage to send us comprehensive pictures from your trips, and we visit the same places you did at home in fron of the computer.
Nice forest here - Thanks - Izzet

Hi Ricardo,
I like much the treatment of the photograph which gives to this forest a mysterious side. The point of view superb and is nicely clarified. A really magic place. I think that it is necessary to have good shoes to go on this stone way...

Ola Ricardo
Yes the light inside the forest is not the best for photography, yet it is a treat for the eyes. The trees almost give a tunnel effect, with the harsh light filtering in. Compositionwise this is excellent. The lack of sharpness is, as some critiques have stated, is I think on account of overcompression..I love the WSs especially with the monkeys on the bridge. A good picture my friend

Ricardo,

jorge
