Photographer's Note
Thatipudi Reservoir Project was constructed across Gosthani River. The Project is located near Thatipudi village, Gantyada Mandal, Vizianagaram District to irrigate a total ayacut of 15,378 acres in Vizianagaram District and to provide drinking water to Visakhaptnam City. The project was constructed during 1963-68.
The Project utilizes 3.325 TMC of the available water and the reservoir storage capacity is 3.175 TMC (Gross) and 3.025 TMC (Net). The Cost of the project is Rs. 1.820 Crores (SSR of 1963-64) and the updated cost including improvements and modernization is Rs. 2.36 Crores (SSR 1971-72)
A total amount of Rs. Crores has been spent towards rehabilitation and the Ayacut of 15,378 Acres has been stabilised in Gantyada, S. Kota & Jami Mandals of Vizianagaram District.
An amount of Rs. 3.10 Lakhs is provided for the year 2003 -04 to towards Rehabilitation under APERP (vide G.O. Ms. No. 83 Dt. 12-6-2003)
