Photographer's Note
Another picture from 'Mothers of the Nation - Daughters of Independence'. This was photographed in a small (and relatively poor) village just north of Bhavnagar in central Gujarat.
I felt that we might have been taken there for some sort of 'trophy' reason to do with the complex local politics with the Patels of the 'upper village' and the inhabitants of the 'lower' village. Our friends in Bhavnagar were very keen we didn't stay out here overnight!
Whilst walking through the village a cobra crossed our path and made into a house compound. A guy walking with us picked up a stick and followed it. His four year old son grabbed his hand and went with him and lots of other excited kids tagged along. I can't see that being the scenario in the overcautious child safety environment we've created here in the UK!!

wow, what a character, the photo is not so great - grayish and not sharp enough for my taste and she covered her mount a bit, but she looks so strange, that I have to give you a big smiley for finding her ;)

Superb Kev. The decayed blue background gives a special touch to the picture beyond this face. A great picture
