Photographer's Note
a horse being made to walk around in a circle after playing a chukka (round) of polo
p.s. for a bug who hopefully is going to give me some tips on how to print my own photographs... that is if the bug remembers how to print

Dear Sohrab... I like the idea you propose us today, this photo give me a feeling of mouvement and there is within an abstraction that I like (today is the abstract´ day for me, or so it seem). Well to early here in Spain in a non-labour day so not ready for big ideas, just I like it.

hmmm...a different type of image from you...not that you have any one style...although I notice the familiar frame as in your last few posts. The inclusion of the trainer's arm and backside adds a lot here I think :D The lead rope that connects the horse to the trainer gives this photo something else...don't know exactly what it is. But it's very nice...I'm probably not making sense, it's late here so I'm probably talking gibberish :) The B&W is perfect, but that's nothing unusual from you.

Heavily abstracted, blurred and distorted but clearly still a horse! It's funny but normally we see polo horses as fine animals - the strongest and fittest of their breed. But here he is bowed and weak; a skeletal beast fit only for the knacker's yard or the glue factory.

Oh yeah, this is a good once you've opened it, to be quite honest with you I didn't feel it at first thumbnail sight.
I think the larger the better for this kind of image, you mat ask for a 30*40 print at least with lots of contrast. And I think it's also good here, deep black charcoal like is nice and there's not too much glaring white areas. (I may add 10% more overall brightness but it's a matter of tastes)
I really like the effect of the irregular horizontal motion lines, but if ever you print it, there a white line on the horse's neck that appears like some kind of dust (even though it is not).. should be cloned out if you ask me...

its sort of abstract, this picture Sohrab. a nice blur and grainy effect complements this nice idea of yours.

i am coming back to this one. I remember a period when I was shooting a lot of those.. Color though, taxis in NY.
Always nice, those blurry pictures.
You are courageous to post it. I don't think people on TE will like that.
BTW, where is the polo field in delhi?

Intresting idé Sohrab. I have been thinking some about this photograph because I do know the blurr gives me a feeling of movment, but I can't decide if it's a feeling of fast move or very slow, like in slow motion. Still it's not the feeling of movment from a walking horse... Still like the motive, the idé and the B&W.
Keep up the good work

This is a lovely example of motion blur, I love the way the horse's head emerges from the forward movement of its body. Could make part of an interesting photo-essay on polo...
