Photographer's Note

A small town just 8 km southeast of Bhuj, Bhujodi is a major textile center of Kutch, with the vast majority of the 1200 inhabitants involved in textile handicraft production. Here one can meet weavers, tie-dye artists and block printers, most of whom belong to the Vankar community. Living in a time preset on fast-forward, to move slowly and steadily is to be left behind. In the craft cluster of Bhujodi, home to 200 weavers, it’s as though time stands still.

But no, this picture is not about the weavers or their houses adorned by nice paintings on the outer wall. It is about the boy who stood watching us, maybe a bit surprised, curious or maybe baffled...till I noticed his pants :-).

He seemed to say, silently "Don't look at me like that"..!!!
