Sunrise in Varanasi, a photo from Uttar Pradesh, Nord

Hello my dear friends,

This is my another post about Varanasi. It is in the state of Uttar Pradesh. I got this beautiful moment at the time when the sun first appeared in the sky on the holy river of The Ganges. The sea gulls were surrounded the boats for searching their food.

Varanasi is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh dating to the 11th century B.C. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters. Along the city's winding streets are some 2,000 temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the “Golden Temple,” dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

Witnessing sunrise from a gleaming stretch of white sand is a rewarding experience.

A very atmospheric image with the flocking seagulls silhouetted against the golden toned Ganges. The boats and people contribute further interest. Very good light management.

Hello Swapan,

What timing, to be up so early to experience this scene of boats and birds, silhouetted against the amber light of the new day! I don't think I have ever seen a photograph quite like this previously, it is well captured and very attractive.
I would imagine that the sounds made by the gulls was extremely loud and aded to the whole experience.

marvelous view of the famous river. unfortunately I had no time to include this place in my trip to india, maybe some day ahead.
marvelous the golden light with the birds, boats and people enhancing the spiritual aspect of the place.

Varanasi was easily one of my favorite places we visited in ALL of India...it was magical. So many photographs to be taken here. your shot has an almost HDR look and feel to it.
the boats are positioned in all directions giving it a disorganised look which is good. love the orange colours on the water. cheers

The foreground boats set the scene, I like the one in the centre directing our eyes into the shot.
The people, the birds and the boats are in silhouette against the rippled golden water.
