Photographer's Note

The Taj Mahal, one of the most welknown edifices in the world and now also nominated to be in the new list of the 7 worldwonders.
Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife and queen Mumtaz Mahal. He had planed to have a similar black tomb built for himself on the other side of the river, but this building was merely started when he was emprisoned.
The building is completely made up with marble and is decorated inside and outside with thousands of semi-precious stones. Inside the tomb itself, real precious stones are used. An incredible sight!
