Hello Arindam
Great composition. The atmopshere is so good plus vibrant colourful clothes of these people really work well together. THe focus & DOF is excellent, isolating her from all the rest. Interesting to see two women staring at the top. Great train photog!

It's a nice slice of life on Indian Railways and you've done well to capture it... some details let it down a little in my eyes though such as the cloth hanging down in the top right, and the elbow poking in at the left. Maybe these things add a bit of necessary chaos to the composition; to me they just seem a little intrusive and distracting. I'm also not sure that the woman blurred in the foreground wouldn't have been better a lot sharper. I guess you're playing on the fact that the lady right in the center is the center of attention and thus gets sole call on focus in the shot, but to me it doesn't quite work as well as it might.

Hi Arindam,
I like this very much...You really get that overcrowded feeling because of the random elbow and whatever it is near the top frame. I see again, this is below your usual technical standards but I am not wise enough to point them out.
I like the overall composition and the elements within - makes for a dynamic, interseting and colourful scene, although all the subjects are clearly victims of their humdrum routine...
I really like this...

Love train pics - you show me life inside a train and that's already one jade bead heading your way ;o) This is excellent, Ariundam. Complex compo with all your subjects spread ouyt across the frame in a harmonious way, and then your focus on that one woman looking up. Priceless.
Very good indeed,
Francis

Hi, Arindam, nice effort on your part, trying to catch a crowd, still capturing the individuality for each one of them. This must have been a quirky scene to get, who knows how it would present itself a few seconds later. I also understand that you could not play too much with the DOF, and so we have to accept the extra blur on the woman in front, but her strong upward expression, responding inversely to the other gaze behind her, is making its point to complete a strong image.
I do agree with the fact that some details get in the way, and since faces are what makes this picture work, I think that cropping out some of the space aroudn them can only highlight the silent drama of their expressions or concerns, stage it better actually. I made a WS in that sense, and hope it works.
Thanks for this very interesting and provoking composition.

very good work. love the symmetry in their looks, and that they look almost opposite and out of the frame. the colors combine well too. good DOF. maybe, could have avoided the disturbance on the top and right.

I wanted to take a break in my India photos posting but you gave me the idea to release one of train photo. I can see how busy could be the train ... busy and lively ... I like it.
Many sceneries caught here, therefore very dynamic with the focus/oof, multi-layers composition, colors & moments.
The top-right is a bit distracting but that's ok as the most important focus are there.
Thanks, Alain -

Hi Arindam, I am discovering your gallery and like it very much, you have very uncommon compositions. This one is great with the face of this girl partially hidden, the guys behind and the girl in the foreground, a great picture with beautiful colors...

Nice colour composition and good use pf shallow DOF to distinguish the lady among the others. It is indeed very much facinating to travel in an Indian rail as you can always meet different people of different cultures and thoughts in a single compartment of a rail. You captured this aspect of train journey very well.

interesting composition Arindam. I like how the different colors mix with each other, and the eyes of both those women looking up at the same time is great. only men don't bother about what's goign on up there.
good timing and good capture.

All pictures of the Chennai express are unusually good. The substantial is placed by the use of the 50mm-Objektivs and the very precise sharpness on a special point into the center. All photos of the Chennai series are photographically perfect and please me very well. Many greetings, Wolfgang.
