Photographer's Note
Ajay is going to Chennai for an Interview in a Private Security Company. However his dream is to join Indian Army one day.
====================================================
Terrible time for India. A string of powerful bombs ripped through a vital spine of Mumbai's commuter train system during the evening rush hour on Tuesday.

Really nice focus on the subject using shallow DOF. Eye-grabbing colors and excellent sharpness. His expression gives you a glimpse into his thougths. Nice work.

Beautiful selective focus here, Arindam. I love your train series. The note (both parts of it) is really first rate. The way you introduce the young man to us, and his dreams of working for security services.
And yes, you are right to mention (how can you not?) the horror in Mumbai. All my sympathies, my friend.
All the best,
Francis

Dear ARindam, I was terrified by this horrible news and immediately thought of all of you Indian friends and your train shots, sadly.
The dof you use here is another great example how shallow dof can work focusing on someone in the back- rather than foreground. The face of this man is so clear and stands out among the other travellers wrapped in softness.
My heart is with you and poor Mumbai people.

with this dof, the eye really focuses on this man, I like his dreamy eyes and his pose. good colors too. I like those train photos. I was sorry to hear in the news what happened in Bombay.

The focus enhances his thoughts here.
Lovely colors & nice details in the composition (the watch, the 2 person behind him, the hand position ...).
Sad time for India ....
Thanks,

You could have chosen to focus on any one of these people, but for some reason, you focused on the one you did.
The stars of some of your other pictures are here, in their blurry disguise - I like this very much. You seem to have got to grips with the 350D within the space of a few hours...good going.
This is an apt series considering recent events...

The focus on that young man is great. He seems to be iluminated. Lightning and colours are great.
I'm sorry about the terror in Bombay.
Best wishes,
Nino
