The Brihadishwara temple in Tanjore is the crowning glory of Chola temple architecture. This superb and fascinating monument is one of only a handful in India with World Heritage listing.

You can spend hours out there looking at the exquisite sculptures and curves and who ever knows what will happenned ?

The present and the past are well combined. Your comparision of the old indian and indian god is very dramatic. They represent different period charactors that hardly seen in the gallery. Good soft light on both.

You sure have a special model here and the similarity is awe inspiring. Just a small tip, try posting photos utilizing the full 800 pixels quotal allotted to you. This is only 580x487.

Hello, Thomas--
Great work here, the contrast between the two figures is nice, with the flowing hair of the man contrasting with the rigid sculpture of the statue, the man's downcast, thoughtful eyes contrasting with the statue's blank, up-looking eyes. i think i just made up a word. The composition is nice, but i think maybe i would cut a little bit more from the top, as most of the space above the man's head doesn't serve much of a purpose.

Lovely image, the expression, the pose, the lighting is great. Looks like the highlights may have blown a touch in his beard which is a shame, but doesn't detract from making this an eye-catching image. Well done.

La divinité regardant l'homme aux yeux baissés c'est chargé de simbolique. Et tout ça en l'espace fugace d'une seconde. Superbe cliché, bravo.

The old man's expression is captured in a very beautiful way Dear Thomas. And the composition and the angle which make us wonder between two and three dimensions of the picture, are amazing. Great job.

une toute grande photo portrait. La DOF qui donne un relief incroyable, la capture et le rendu des lumières; ce qui en plus donne beaucoup de panache aux couleurs.
Cadrage extra, ambiance calme et méditative.

je découvre ta galerie aujourd'hui et j'apprécie ton travail. Cette photo possède une excellente luminosité et un cadrage superbe. J'aime beaucoup la partie floue qui sépare l'homme et la statue. Très belle réalisation.

tu as vraiment cartonné avec cette photo. Le cadrage, la lumière, le flou en arrière-plan, l'expression des "deux" personnages, tout est parfait. Une photo de grande puissance.
La plus grande performance est d'avoir été là pour saisir ce moment... pour l'éternité.
Une très très grande photo.

That is a beautiful picture!

Too often, people try to capture the atmosphere of places like this by trying to get as much of the temple in the picture as possible.
You zoomed in on one little detail and it works very very well.
The fading of the background works very well to capture all the attention to the front.

C'est par je ne sais quel hasard que je tombe sur cette photo. J'étais passé à côté...trop bête - j'aime la similitude dans les personnages de ta compo, la prise de vue que tu as su faire au bon moment, les yeux baissés de cet homme devant la divinité, bref très bonne prise - j'aime beaucoup !
