Photographer's Note
As promised in yesterday's photo this is the young girl who was singing along to some of the young boy's tunes. To see the boy in action have a look at this photo I posted previously. I sat and listened to the boy play about 4 songs and this young lady would sing a song and then disappear for a while only to come back and sing another song and then disappear again. Very strange behaviour if they were a double act!
PP details: Crop to top and bottom of image to improve (IMO) the composition but it is a full-width shot. Slight brightness/contrast correction; Black frame added.
I'd be interested to know your honest opinions on this photo since on several occasions I have decided I don't like it enough to post it, only to change my mind, and then change it back again... I'm not sure if her expression really says "I'm singing" or if it just looks a bit odd. Also, the dark brown part of the wall behind her head bothers me.
Regards,
Rich
[Note to Ben (ben4321), I think this is the composition you would have liked to see on the previous photo? Me too, and I could have achieved it with alot of cloning. This one I actually shot with the subject to the left though.]

My honest opinion - technically it's a really good photo, Aesthetically, it's less of a good photo.
Technicals: Really sharp, great color and "horizontal" composition. DOF is perfect creating a nice background. Background is a great color also, making the photo very monotone which I'm a big fan of. The dark spot behind her head is a little distracting but, for me, if you didn't point it out I probably wouldn't have even given it a glancing notice.
Aesthetics: I don't like the "vertical" composition. - the photo seems a little off or unbalanced with the top of the girls head cut off, yet there is space under her chin. I also think the bright earring really is fighting the monotone coloring of the rest of the photo. I see what you mean about the girls expression but I don't think it is "bad" in any sense of the word.
I don't think the black frame helps much in that it sort of blends in with the girls dark hair. - but not enough to de-emphasize that the top of her head is cut off.
I think that's it. It's really not bad. I think my major gripe for me is the top and everything else is just minor. All-in-all it is probably just as good if not better than any portrait shot I took.
Nice work.
You asked for it.?! - it's really just my opinion and I'm sure others will interpret the photo in a totally different way.
Also, the fact that you have also posted her brother gives the photo a little more, I don't know, purpose maybe? So, I would want to see this photo even if it was 10 times worse just because I saw your last post which sparked my interest. Plus, the photo of her brother is an outstanding photo and I'm sure you are comparing the two. Just remember, if every shot you took came out like that than you would be the greatest photographer of all time. If that helps in anyway?

hello Richrad,
I like this.It is technically "all that" and aesthetically pleasing to my eye. I like the horizontal composition and the monotone BG. I also very much like the triangle of bright points created by the whites of her eyes, teeth and her earrings. They dazzle and so does she. Her expression is natural.
regards
Bev
