Photographer's Note

Nothing prepared me for the majestic volcano rising above the hills and sky as I exited a tunnel - I was in awe of its presence.

I now know why scholars, poets, playwrights, lords and great men have wrote or sang or painted Fuji-San in all aspects through Japan's history. Words cannot describe it here, you have to stand under its gaze and majesty to truly know why.

The tranquility and quietness of the lake and its water in the cold morning is a far cry from the endless drone of Tokyo. Meditation here is recommended, if one could withstand the piercing cold!
