Photographer's Note
Omoide yokocho, also known as 'Memory Lane' and 'Piss Alley' (owing to a traditional lack of facilities) is a series of narrow alleys in Shinjuku that remains the same since the 1940's, filled with tiny bars and yakitori grills, it is smoky, cramped, and has a hint of chaos.
It contrasts with the skyscrapers, the spotlessly clean order, the neon lit shops and restaurants and the crowds of Shinjuku.

Hello Justin
Well I've been absent from TE for several months as well, and going through the past work of my favourites, I came across this - so apologies for the late response. And despite that, it seems that I'm the first... Ludicrous overlooking of a strong street image. I realise the genre isn't the most popular, and monochrome is, to put it politely, a niche market, but the rain on the windows, the faces watching a TV screen on the wall (?) make this a really authentic and effective piece of reportage.
Regards
Will

Hazy & hot, dreamy or are they looking up a Boeing flying over? A shot full of action. Great little piece of work, Justin!
