Shirakawago 2018 #1, a photo from Gifu, Chubu

Photographer's Note

Now I am still in Shirakawago to take shots "light-Up" eveny tonight. But frankly I like more usual nights than special night. This shot was taken yesterday just one day before special event. But fortunately I could get so nice light snowfall night as such. I used flash in order enhance snow frakes via shutter speed : 16 seconds and expsore : 4.

An artful and successful shot. The blip of flash has done its job in highlighting the snowflakes, and the long shutter speed (with tripod of course) has rendered the scene beyond very effectively. Full marks!

Here in my city it is so hot these days that I dream of being there on the snow right now! The light coming from the house stands out beautifully in this scene, and the dark tones of the house makes a very nice contrast with the snow. Beautiful composition!

The warm colors of the lighted windows contrast with the cold outside, the flash reveals the falling snow. A good mood, but no wit's time to come in and have a nice hot tea!

Hello Takero,
These houses are always beautiful to look at, and in the evenings they become very cosy. In this case it's the light in the windows and the bright, big snowflakes thathave this wonderful effect. The flash and long exposure worked perfectly.
