Photographer's Note
This again is a life shot at the same river bank. Along the slope, there were a lot of people painting from the place of their choice. They worked in groups I guess..Looking at each other, comparing work, exclaiming praises...God, that was lively.
Ironically all of these painters were elderly people...
Another thing I note in this country in contrast to home. Old people really enjoy the retire ment with photography( All the high end stuff i saw with mostly old people), Painting, Fishing...
Well...That is something.
But this gentle man was engrossed all by himself & my running around to spot the right angle didn`t seem to bother him a bit.

hi prem
really it's a great one... it's colors are realy great... i could understand how you managed your foot steps to locate his shadow on his canvas... that is the great achievement here...

Nice capture Prem, I really like the shadow of the artist on the canvas, and that is what make this picture diff.

Great!! I see the landscape in the painture! I suppose that there is a sort of dam. And I like also that the man is painting with his shadow (a selfportrait??) on the picture!! Interesting. And what is he thinking about? You tell us about retired people.... I like that he enjoy this way his time!

Hi Prem - I've been coming back and looking at this one a few times trying to decide what i really like about it and where I feel it could have been improved. I'm a bit of a fan of the square format for some images and I think this works here to some degree but I wonder if it's at the cost of losing this man's feet and the edge of the bags at the bottom of the image - I can't help wondering if it would have been better to get him in the whole frame. There is such a strong light on his canvas that bleaches the painting but I do like the way his shadow then reveals what is there - a really nice and unusual effect but technically a little bit diffcult to achieve the right balance here. - otherwise really nice detail and DOF - I like the inclusion of the guy with the bicycle in the background.
best wishes Kev

Hi Prem
a clear shot, you framed the subject in a corner with the steps on top, pleasant to see his shade on the canvas and within this shade still the painting.

This is a very nice shot, Prem. Thanks for "linking" it to me... I love the man's shadow inprinted on his canvas.
Have a great New Year, and I look forward to meeting you in Tokyo when you visit on business next (drop me a mail and we'll arrange it).
All the best,
Francis

Great shot Premanand.
I love the POV, sort of looks as if he has painted his own shadow on the canvas. POV could be improved by moving behind the painter so his view is in shot also. But as it stands the shot is very nice.
See what you think of my painting/painter shots.
Have a good day.
