Photographer's Note

This Amida Buddha statue is one of the six Amida Buddha statues in Kamakura. Known as the Good Luck Amida, or "Yakuyoke" Amida. The official translation is "Good Luck" Amida at least but I'm not entirely comfortable with this. Other translations for Yakuyoke as a noun are "talisman" or as a verb to "protect from evil". Not quite as flippant as "Good Luck".

This one stands at 2.8 metres, and I swear I didn't see the "No Photographs" sign until after I'd tripped the shutter. Anyway, it seems a waste now that I have it not to post it.
