Photographer's Note

The singing dune is one of the main attractions in Almaty region and it was the most crowded place with foreign tourists in Kazakhstan, that I saw. Can you imagine? Twelve people! And a few of them just drivers and locals :).
Here the Italian couple that also travelled by jeep, but as they didn't speak Russian, and the driver didn't speak English (not to say Italian), they went with a translator. As I have written to Luciano, they had pizza for dinner in the same guest house in the middle of the steppe.
The dune is 150 m high, so it is a bit of effort to climb. But when the people go, they leave traces, something like the stairs. So I was clever and went after others. And going back is easy and fun - you just sit on the sand and go down...
