Photographer's Note

After years of hard work, the Kuantan Sikh community finally realized their aspiration to have a new landmark, the Gurdwara Sahib, in jalan bukit ubi. Built at a cost of 2 millions ringgits, the Gurdwara Sahib was officially opened to the public in a grand ceremony in 2007. Some 5000 Sikh people from all over the country and Singapore congregated at the temple to pay homage and join in the prayers. A priest from India and his clergymen were invited to grace the opening of the temple. Some 1000 Sikh in Kuantan and its outskirts, including Maran, Mentakab, Rompin and Terengganu, could utilise the facility. The ultimate aim was to make the Gurdwara a centre for spiritual and community building. Source : https://www.thestar.com.my/news/
