Discussion with a monk, a photo from Pulau Pinang, Ouest

Photographer's Note

Some visit the Dharmikarama Burmese Temple in Penang to pay respect to Lord Buddha, others simple go for sightseeing or to relax in the peaceful park behind the main prayer halls. Some however go there to have serious discussions about faith or issues in their private life with any of the monks based in the temple like this young Chinese man. It can be a lecture but in this case I guess it rather was a discussion or looking for advise. The monks in this temple are not all from Malaysia, some are from Thailand and others from Sri Lanka, because they all follow the same school of Buddhist teachings known as Theravada tradition

this is bringing back a very distinct memory for me.
When i visited Thailand back in 2005, my friend whom i traveled with, she did the same - sat down with a group of monks for guidance regarding a personal issue that was causing her emotional stress.
she found it very helpful.

ces couleurs oranges se marient bien en général avec les autres teintes, ici on a droit à leur mariage avec les verts, toutes deux des palettes étendues.
Lumières parfaites cette fois pour un moemnt de grand calme.

I don't know, but this shot reminds me old hong kong action movies about kung fu etc. It seems like a scene from film. Good colours combination! My compliments!

Olá Urs, wonderful double portrait, good to see they aren't aware of your camera. That orange is striking. I wonder if he was a fan of Holland team for the final of the world cup? :)) I really like the way you got their attitudes, wisdom at left and humble listener at right.
RE: light in Asia. Well, it depends much on each situation. I actually like it in general, love it for skies but it can be very dificult in markets without flash because there's too much diference between light and shadow.
