Photographer's Note
A picture of a tropical flower on a black sand beach taken right where it had fallen from the tree above.
The name of this place is Pantai Pasir Hitam (beach of black sand) and is just a small beach. The black sand is unusual and I believe this is the only beach that has it on the island. Apparently it's still a mystery as to exactly where the black minerals are coming from. We were here at sunset and it was a magical moment.

I really like this shot. The black sand is a great contrast for the flower. Nice composition. Just a great shot.

Outstanding shot! I like how the orange color of the flower also appears as a shade on the ground (sunset?). Composition is great also.

Very good picture because of the contrast in colors of the flower and the sand, the composition and nice DOF

This sort of shot appeals to me. I like the simplicity of it. The colours go well together and the highlights and lines in the sand creates an interesting texture. Nice use of DOF.

This is a lovely picture, the positioning of the flower does make it more striking and contrasts with the sand nicely. How did you put your signiture on the bottom?
Nice one!

I happened to see this photo in "Feautured Theme". Wow. Soft against hard. It has a bit of noise but a great photo nevertheless. I think that flower is called Bunga Tanjung in the local language. Latiff
