Photographer's Note
This chicken butcher in the busy Jalan Kangsar morning street market in downtown Penang must have the freshest chicken, because it is always crowded by eager shoppers. Normally the Chinese prefer to buy live chicken, but here clearly they favor the already slaughtered one. One reason could be that these chicken look more healthy or more precisely less fatty then usual. Moreover Malaysians like to eat chicken a lot, most probably as much as they like seafood. It's an excellent source of protein.

Allô Urs!
Boucoup de vogue à ce marché qui eat parfaitement capté. Pour le poulet, je le préfère emballé individuellement comme chez-nous. Excellente exposition et une scène bien colorée.
Bravo!... et toutes mes amitiés,
Emilius

Hi Urs,
These women seem to have a keen ctricical eye to spot the freshest chicken.
The colors here are strong and clear and the details very sharp.
There are many South Asians living in my home town and they do sell fresh chicken which it quit good.
Regards, Tom

Hello Urs,
great the snapshot with the butcher woman preparing the chicken for her hurry customers. As i see the most of the shops over there, are found in open air markets, where everything can occur and be sold.Well done.

Hello Urs,
I prefer this market shot to all the others that I've critiqued. The intensity of the shoppers is palpable, there are more of them vying for attention of the seller, the colors and light are ideal. This is one instance when a fill flash truly helped in bringing out the vibrant colors. Increasingly, in the United States the consumption of 'red meat' (beef) has been on the decline, with chicken and fish on the rise. The reports of the latter being more healthy than beef certainly have changed our diet.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Urs,
Again a splendid daily life picture, it's wonderful to see how the women are very active for an chicken.
Also in Belgium we eat a lot chicken, never live chicken on the market, always slaughtered one.
Sharpness and clarity make these picture attractive.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hello Urs,
This is a very interesting and colorful market scene, showing how Malaysian people look like and what they prefer to eat. Excellently composed, highly masterfully captured and very informatively narrated in the note!
