Watching the tourists, a photo from Mandalay, Nord

Photographer's Note

Once that buddhist monks are usually a favorite theme for most part of the members who visit Asia (including myself), this time I'm giving priority to a little nun I met in the Sutaungpyi Pagoda, at the top of Mandalay hill. She was trying to get some donations for her monastery and she stayed around for a while, playing with the cat and watching the few tourists that were there visiting the pagoda and enjoying the view.

A very amazing image actually due to the colors I presume
this pink dress, the green pillars on the very shinny ground tiles are so unusual, almost agressive
The contrast with the serenity which comes out from the cat and the young monk is awesome
bravo for this striking (to me at least) image

Linda composição, muito equilibrada, as cores estão combinando muito bem. A monja é bastante jovem, parece uma criança. Tem um olhar meigo. Ótimo gerenciamento da luz, em um local com muito brilho e reflexos. Parabéns!

Linda! A nitidez é espantosa e a luminosidade está excelente. Gosot muito da composição e o gato é amis um elemento a mostrar a tranquilidade que se vive dentro dos pagodes.

I just came back from Thailand some days ago and hope you had a great trip in Myanmar ;)
I was quite amazed when I saw for the 1st time the Burmese nuns wearing the pink robe, catching my attention. Here I like the sweet expression of the young one, the shining pillars reflecting in the pavement...the cat is also a nice detail to look at. Exposure is well handled!

aqui considero uma das suas melhores. Bem ao estilo documentário.
Todos os componentes estão bonitos na foto, até o gato parecendo estar inadvertidamente na captura.

ena, já 3 fotos da tão desejada viagem. Parece-me que o gato é um engodo para nos apanhar...pelo menos eu não resistiria aquele tigrado. Pergunto-me se também estaria vestido de rosa se fosse um rapaz...essa treta das cores consoante os sexos deve ser só no ocidente. Ou então não...Bem capturado e enquadrado, Anabela.

Hola Ana, this is one of the most interesting - and beautiful - portraits I've seen in a long time. The little nun is beautiful, te image is so sharp and I like the inclusion of the cat. Una fantastica fotografia, me encanta la mirada del niño-monje que denota curiosidad pero a la vez transmite una gran serenidad, realmente una bella imagen, despues el POV del entorno no puede ser mas atractivo, el bonito gato tan tranquilo y los atractivos espejuelos del templo. Magnificos colores, gran calidad en la imagen y una luz muy bien equilibrada nada facil conseguir con tantos brillos de estos materiales en la decoracion.

Bonjour Ana!
C'est une très jolie photo pleine de sensibilité! Au départ, on a du mal à imaginer que c'est une petite fille, malgré la robe rose!
J'aime beaucoup les couleurs! C'est marrant, on a l'impression que le rose de la robe, le bleu du vase, l'ocre du foulard ont été choisis pour aller avec le fond!
Je ne sais top que penser de ces enfants moines ou nonnes? Ils n'ont pas choisi, et on peut se demander si ce n'est pas une forme d'esclavage!
Oh! elle n'a pas l'air malheureuse la petite!
Au moins, elle a un petit chat avec qui jouer; mais je me souviens moi-même des années d'après-guerre, où la religion catholique essayait encore d'embrigader les jeunes dans ses griffes! C'était une porte de sortie pour beaucoup de gens pauvres!
Maintenant qu'il n'y a plus de misère en Europe, ils vont chercher les "vocations?" en Afrique!

Hi Ana,
A very interesting picture! I like the very good colours here and the combination of this serious monk with the marvellous architecture in the background. The cat is a fine detail and the joints between the floor tiles provide good leading lines in the composition.
