Photographer's Note

Exploring around one of Nyaungshwe many canals was probably a once in a life time experience. Early morning is the best time of day to witness this activity with a pleasant temperature and rays of sunlight streaming through. Those are long motorised flat-bottom canoes just arrived in town from villages around Inle lake area and loaded with goods, farm produce, people etc, transforming this narrow canal into a sort of temporary floating market. This township is an important trading hub as well as a major distribution point of market produce from the lake area to central Burma and the rest of the country.

The sheer number of would be buyers waiting on shore is nothing short of unbelievable, interesting human activity, mixture of colors, sounds and smells.

Real hectic pace, but worth seeing and making lot of pictures........
