Photographer's Note
The Hsinbyume Pagoda on the western bank of the Irrawaddy River is modeled on the physical description of the Buddhist mythological mountain, Mount Meru.
Seven concentric terraces represent the seven mountain ranges going up to the Mount Meru according to the Buddhist mythology.
Built in 1816, the pagoda was badly damaged by an earthquake in 1836 and was restored by King Mindon in 1874.

Hello Andre,
You have a winner here, the young monks frolicking in among the curves of the temple, especially with the umbrella in hand. I wanted to integrate it into the group theme, I Love Umbrellas created by Georgio Giacosa (ciakgiak), but could find no way to do it.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Bonjour Andre ,

Bravo !
Amicalement,
Christian

Hi Andre,
Very cool shot, I love it. the whole setting with the white temple, the presence of the two little novice adds so much liveliness and color to the composition. They make wonderful model, with a geniune and friendly smile and cheerfulness. The colors seem a bit more subdue than I expected probably due to the strong contrast of the white walls and the strong light. I would have mess up this shot so badly with difficult light.

Children are always children, even when they're monks.
A splendid picture of Myanmar!
The composition is superb.
I love the human aspect brought together with this religious and cultural monument.
Sorry, I notice now that I ran out of smiles.
Best regards, Paul

Yves.

Hello Andre - A superbly composed shot, the two young monks are beautifully positioned amongst the wavy, sculptural representation of the mountain and the colours, although fairly subdued are very attractive. Good detail in the whites too. An original approach to a popular subject... I like the way one's eye constantly moves through the image as it focuses on the faces of the boys. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Andre
Not sure about the amount of posing going here, but who cares: this is a superb picture. Waves in stone, smiling faces and plenty of Burmese coleur locale. Great picture!

Lately i've been watching the documentary series "Ancient Aliens" and they claim that those pagodas as well as thousands of pyramids scattered on the World are made, or at least forced to be made by visitors from outer space. The issue is that, pyramidal structures provide the focusing of earth's energy, therefore may have been used to recharge (?) the UFOs.... Well, i don't know whether these theories are true but i feel one thing is true: you had an immaculate urge of perfect cadrage here. I even like the cut umbrella (no pun intended)

Dear Andre,
The composition is so unique that one might suspect that it was not natural scene you observed but you arranged it:).
