Photographer's Note
Girls praying in Swedagon Pagoda. They seem to belong to an organized prayer group, hence the similar dress. I say seem, because I found it difficult to learn much in depth information from people in Myanmar because of their lack of english skills/my lack of Burmese skills. People are still very very nice, even though a long conversation is difficult.
Having read a limited number of Buddist literature, I was however surprised at the the religious fervour in the country, as I understood Buddhism to be more of a philosophical outlook than a religion per se, at from what I read it seems to me that the Buddha frowned on organized religion.
In theory the image of the Buddha is supposed to serve as an example, however it didn't seem to me much different from divine veneration practised in other religions. Not a photographic topic, but if someone could explain some of this to me I would appreciate it.
Technical:
Did do auto levels, contrast, and increased saturation

Bonsoir Daniel
Amicalement

Salut Daniel, I must side totally with Bertrand here - an awesome picture with a subtle, delicate edge, that surely deserves a wider following. in the frozen land
of the generals only the little prayers are moving forward, but...will they fall on deaf ears? Lovely title BTW ftom the old soul hit of the sixties. This is me doing my bit to reddress the situation vis a vis this photo. Tres amicalement, Francis

Hi Daniel,
I am amazed this picture has a low rating. Love your compo. The buddhas looking affectionately on the girls praying...and the girls praying fervently...nicely picturized.
Good colours and excellent compo.

A good documentary shot of Burma. These shots are always tricky as you may have had different light sources. I can see the sunlight streaming through the window.
Did you use flash? Just wondering.
Great Job
