Photographer's Note

Tengboche monastery (3867 m) is the center of Tibetian Buddism (Nyingmapa lineage) in Khumbu region of Nepal. It was founded in 1916 by Lama Gulu sent from the famous Rongbuk monastery on the other side of Everest in Tibet.

This photo was taken in the evening when monks were preparing to go to bed. The monastery looked like a big ship in the ocean of clouds among giant Himalayan mountains.
