Photographer's Note
While having breakfast in Sanasa in the Khumbu region of Nepal, the sun started to heat up the land and dozens of birds of prey made use of the increasing thermals to circle and gain height.
For 1/2 an hour the massive birds whirled above our heads getting higher and higher until finally they reached such a height that they broke free from the thermals and soared northwards.
This bird of prey had a wingspan of 2 metres or more and here it had reached such a high altitude that it was heading for a col on this mountain called Taweche standing at a height of 6440m.
