School Buddies, a photo from Gandaki, Ouest

These two were among the children that were going in the opposite direction from us along the treking trail on their way to school. When I motioned to them, asking if I could take their photo, they both stopped and moved together as if they were professional models....that did surprise me, and found it rather endearing.

What a cute twosome! Are they girls or boys? The one on the left has earrings. Those logo hats are everywhere in North India too. The dark red colour really makes this shot!

A lucky moment in time. The lighting is perfect on the 2 boys faces. Perhaps the boy on the right will become a porter with his school bag being carried in the traditional way - or with his education perhaps he will gravitate to the metropolis of Kathmandu? Cheers, Marlene
